Off to Napier for the weekend to see Lionel Ritchie in concert at the Mission Estate Winery. Can't wait. Should be good... alcohol, nibbles and BABY SITTERS! So this is how I'm feeling:

Motorbike... By Myself & No Earmuffs! (22 Feb 09)

Luke has finally decided the motorbike ISN'T too noisy so he DOESN'T need his earmuffs! So here he is being a BIG BOY and riding it all by himself, without the earmuffs... So proud of himself! (and so are Mummy & Daddy!) Can you hear the sounds he's making from those pursed lips? It sounded like "rrrmmmmmm, rrrrmmmmmm". And don't you LOVE the obstacle course??

At the Beach (6 Feb 09)

Waitangi Day! And what a beautiful sunny day it was. We had Nana and Grandad staying, along with cousins Scott and Jeremiah - we had just had Grandad's 80th birthday party at our house the night before and what a night it was.

Anyway, back to Waitangi Day. We went down to the beach for a picnic lunch, swim and play. Here is Nana showing Luke shells and seaweed.

And look at this great ditch the boys (Daddy, Scott... and Luke) are making. It doubled up as a swimming hole when the tide came in. Such a good idea!

Georgia & Luke (14 Feb 09)

After gymnastics, we went back to Maree & Eion's for morning tea and playtime. Georgia and Luke had a ball - they are so alike and always play really nicely together. Here's some cute pics - Luke did give her a kiss but the camera didn't click fast enough!

The Big Green Bear (23 Feb 09)

At daycare today, Luke made a 'bear' hat with ears on it, painted it and could then put it on and be a big green bear. Being the exciteable "I can't wait" little boy that he is, he decided to wear it PRIOR to the paint drying... and gave himself this lovely green/yellow hair. But you have to agree, he's a cute little bear!

Sharing A Smoothie (15 Feb 09)

Daddy had to go to Australia for work for a week, so Mummy & Luke headed out to the airport to make sure he went... no, really to give him lots of hugs and kisses... and make sure he went!! ha ha

Daddy decided to get a smoothie and 3 straws so we could all share it. Luke thought that was fabulous.

This Little Piggy (Jan 09)

Mummy & Luke had Rana, Sophie and Nathan over visiting from Australia for the day. We were having a great old time playing outside when Rana said "Kim, there's a pig walking down the road, heading this way!". Well of course, I was thinking "What??!!" when Rana said "Kim, the pig is coming down the driveway!". And here it is! Turn's out the pig's name is Lola and she is an escape artist from our neighbours.

The kids thought she was great... as long as she didn't look at them and head their way! We gave her some bread and she followed us back over the road and halfway up the neighbours driveway, then realised where she was and promptly turned around and hoofed it back to our house!

We finally got the neighbours to come and get her... but what excitement for the morning!!

Sandcastles Galore (24 Jan 09)

What a lovely day at the beach. Daddy and Luke made this amazing sandcastle - complete with centralised swimming pool and decorations. Mummy thinks they're very clever... what do you think?

Bus Drivers, Cuddles & Hairstyles (18 Jan 09)

Daddy and Luke were playing at home... I think Mummy was having a well earned afternoon nap! And looked what happened! I wonder where they went to on their travels??

Then what a lovely surprise when Mummy woke up... cuddles on the trampoline

And then of course lots of jumping and getting knocked about by one revved up toddler!... but then onto some hairstyling - Luke loves to 'style' Mummy's hair and as you can see, he does a great job!

Water, Trampolines & Daddy (17 Jan 09)

Fun at Chipmunks (11 Jan 09)

We all went to Chipmunks, along with Tracy and Aurelia, for a fun morning out... coz it was raining outside! As you can see, we had a blast! Paul decided to take the kids down the tunnel slide on his knee and they loved it so much, they made him do it again, and again, and again, and again... by the end, he was knackered!

Luke loved riding the helicopter. He could drive it and make it go up, down and turn. What a star!

And both Aurelia and Luke loved riding the horse carriage.

Best Friends (30 Dec 08)

Rusty (the dog) and Schuggles (the cat) are definitely best of friends. They love to play together; chasing each other, watching bugs together or just snuggling. It's so cute to watch. It's always on Schuggles terms though (of course!) so Rusty has to just ease in gently when he wants to play.

Auckland Anniversary Day (26 Jan 09)

What a fun day today! Mummy, Daddy and Luke spent the whole day out on an adventure together. First we took the big Ferry over to Devonport from Downtown. There was a huge regatta and we had a great time spying all the big old spinnaka boats and looking out for pirates. Luke was most disappointed that he couldn't see any, but was very happy to know our 'treasure' was safe at home!

Then we spent the morning and early avo in Devonport. Daddy took Luke for a horse carriage ride, we played in the park and had lunch out at a cafe, where Luke insisted Mummy be a tiger and chase/growl at him around the climbing frame - no matter what other cafe guests were watching or listening!!

After that and another play in the park, it was back on the Ferry for another 'overseas' adventure, and then to yet another park! Doesn't Luke just look TOO ADORABLE climbing the tree here?

McDonalds offered us an afternoon icecream treat, plus a play in the playground - where Daddy was required to climb up and down and through the tubes. Then we headed to another park closer to home and had Fish 'n Chips for dinner. What a lovely summer day together! Such memories.

The Tractor & the Mop (Oct 08)

Grandad and Nana came to visit for 3 weeks. Luke had just got this great tractor/trailer set from the toy library but needed help to get it going. Along to the rescue came Grandad... with a bit of good old Kiwi ingenuity! To save his poor back/hips/body, he used the kitchen mop as a handle to push Luke around. Classic!! Good on ya, Grandad, or as he likes to be known "Big Daddy", which was Luke's original title for him when he couldn't say "Grandad".

A Roaring Good Time at the Zoo! (Dec 08)

Paul & Badge took Luke and Stacey to the zoo while they were up visiting. Luke climbed into the dragons mouth and demanded that "my friend" come and join him... of course, he meant Stacey. So after Badge kindly lifted her in, Luke decided that it was time to scare everyone and commenced ROARING!
